libarchive-peek-perl software package provides Perl module for peeking into archives without extracting them, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libarchive-peek-perl
libarchive-peek-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libarchive-peek-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libarchive-peek-perl *
You will get with libarchive-peek-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
